There are a lot of watersports companies on Grand Bahama. Many offer the same service, but there are a few out there where you will get more bang for your buck.
The majority of watersports companies can bargain with you, but some choose not to. If you have about three persons or more going on an excursion, you are more likely to get a bargain or a discounted price, especially in the slow season.If you are staying in the Port Lucaya area, you are likely to run across companies such as Reef Tours and Ocean Motion Watersports, and maybe Superior Watersports (if you are interested in the Booze Cruise) . All of these companies charge basically the same price for the services. However, Ocean Motion is located on the Our Lucaya Resort's beach whereas Reef Tours is located in Port Lucaya.
There are a few differences in the services offered. For example, Reef Tours operates the big boat tours ( such as snorkeling, glass bottom boats, and fishing) whereas Ocean Motion operates the smaller beach adventures such as wave runners and parasailing . Both companies assist each other in the services offered, but if you go to Ocean Motion for fishing, you will pay the full price of fishing. If you were to go directly to Reef Tours, you could possibly get a discount. Vice versa for the rental of a wave runner.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to book through a tour agent at your hotel. That way if anything goes wrong with your tour, you have someone to blame, and not yourself. A lot of tourists get times or dates confused and miss their selected tour or activity. With a hotel rep, you will be reminded and also have some one who is willing to go that extra mile for you.
